TIPS FOR CHOOSING SPORTS BRASNOTE: Studies show that over 70% of women wear the wrong bra size. If you're not sure of your correct size, see our measuring instructions. And, to find sports bras in your size, with all the features you prefer, use our convenient Sports Bra Finder. WHY SPORTS BRAS?Why wear sports bras rather than regular bras when you run, play sports, or work out? The answer, in one word? Bounce. During vigorous exercise, you move up, down, and all around. So, of course, does your bust. That's bounce, and it can be painful. Over time, it can also damage the ligaments supporting your breasts. To control bounce, you need support. And that's where sports bras come in. Sports bras provide extra support you won't get with ordinary bras. They help minimize the motion to help prevent pain and damage. CHAMPION KNOWS WOMEN'S SPORTS BRASWe introduced the first sports bra — the legendary Jogbra® — more than 20 years ago. Since then, we've kept right on expanding our selection of women's sports bras...continually updating our support and comfort technologies. Today we offer a variety of styles, including underwire sports bras, seamless styles, moisture-wicking bras, and more. So, how can you determine which bras are best for you? TIPS FOR FINDING THE SPORTS BRAS THAT GIVE YOU THE BEST SUPPORTAre you a 32A, a 44DDD, or somewhere in between? Do you take leisurely walks or run marathons? Play golf, tennis, or basketball? Answering questions like these will help you determine your best bra styles. To make it even easier, Champion has developed several tools: our Bra Support Chart, our Motion Control Requirements Ratings, and our Sports Bra Finder. Our Bra Support Chart looks at two key factors: your bra size and your workout. Where your bra size and workout intersect, you'll find the support level you need. And, once you know that, you can use our Sports Bra Finder to locate the particular styles that provide your required support. What if you participate in several different activities, with different degrees of intensity? In that case, your needs will vary, and so will your options. No matter what your size, you may want one type of bra for cycling, another for tennis, and still another for running or soccer. That's where our Motion Control Requirements (MCR) ratings can help. Check these ratings to decide which bras are best for each of your favorite activities: MAX MCR: Maximum Motion Control Requirements (Maximum Support) Sports bras with our MAX MCR rating provide maximum support and help minimize bounce during your most intense activities — such as running, basketball, soccer, and horseback riding. HIGH MCR: High Motion Control Requirements (High Support) Sports bras with our HIGH MCR rating provide high support and help minimize bounce during intense activities — such as jogging, tennis, volleyball, and mountain biking. MED MCR: Medium Motion Control Requirements (Medium Support) Sports bras with our MED MCR rating provide medium support and help minimize bounce during moderately intense activities — such as walking, hiking, spinning, and cycling. Some Champion sports bras have more than one MCR rating, customized to bra size. Check the MCR color bar at the top of the product page to see which rating applies to which size range. (Here's an example.) Plus, use our Sports Bra Finder to find styles in your size and support range. And remember, whatever the MCR rating, all Champion women's sports bras are perfect for everyday. ANOTHER WAY TO LOOK AT SPORTS BRAS: COMPRESSION VS. ENCAPSULATIONVirtually every sports bra works in one of two ways: compression or encapsulation. Compression bras do not have conventional cups. Instead, they have super-sleek stretch fabric, which hugs your bust close to your chest in order to minimize bounce. The typical compression bra is a pullover: You can either slip it over your head or step inside and pull it up. There's no hardware to chafe or dig — nothing but smooth support. Classic compression styles include the Action Tech® Bra (our updated version of the Jogbra®)...along with other bestsellers like our Shiny Seamless Sports Bra. Encapsulation styles look more like regular bras. They have separate molded cups, which support your bust from beneath. They're designed to contour your curves, for a naturally shapely look. And they often come in C cups and larger, so they're perfect for fuller figures. Encapsulation styles include underwire sports bras like our best-selling Powerback Bra...as well as supportive wirefree styles like our popular Shape T-Back Bra. Ideally your wardrobe should include both types of sports bras. For moderate to intense workouts, you'll want at least one compression style. And, for high to maximum activity, you'll want several encapsulation bras — especially if you wear a C or D cup or larger. WHAT ABOUT MOISTURE CONTROL?Whether you do yoga or high-impact workouts, you can get uncomfortably sweaty. The solution? Select any Champion sports bra. All our bras are engineered to wick sweat and control moisture buildup. Result? You stay cooler and drier, both during and after exercise.
